Hmm and how does that go again???
Jul. 28th, 2006 12:59 amOh ok I will explain... feck no, like hell will I.
I am feeling a little goofy today. Had a wonderful couple of days I had dinner with Stephenie, her hubby, her da, her sister in law and Mother in law and out mutual friend Dickie. It was a wonderful dinner of traditional english fare. The conversation was fun and I got to know Lorenzo (steph's Dad) fairly well. Lousie (sister in law rattled my cage lot when she stated why read a book if there was a film, I almost expected her to say that if it hadn't been made into a film then the book was worthless, mind you that would take a degree of logic that she doesn't hold. I simply (yikes I am going oldish english here) can not understand anyone who can not derive beniefit and consolation in a book for a couple of hours. My life would certainly not be as rich as it is, I know i have found the description of men in books (personality not physicality) so alluring i have wished and yearned for them to be real. This I must admit only happens with women writers but still I think they are preaching to a choir there.
So asides from wanting to kill the heathen person who refusesm, though she has the educaation, to read, the night went really well.
The folowing day i was up and racing, we (Steph, lorenzo and me) went to Wimbledon, stopped off for shorts for Andrew, and then caught a train to Hampton Coutr Palace. I had been before as a child, but hadn't been for a long time adn to be honest there wasn't much change (i suppose it wouldn't really) The only thing I did notice was an increwase of staff and the arrogant rude and distasteful demeanour of the damn guards, there is a tale to be written about. but i won't it still pisses me off and i have a right mind to write quite the letter to the company employing the asshole.
I enjoyed the other than the minor skirmish, and was left with aching feet and a dry throat wherte I had spent most of my time talking and giving a history lesson of stuff straight off the top of my head. good thing I have a fairly good memory and my mum was forever talking history to me. there are things i keep reading about the death of katherine of Aragon, that don't jive with other sources. Yes i know she was taken ill, but I also know she fell down some stairs. why would not this be mentioned???
I bought a couple of bboks and a baseball bat and got my ass kicked at the till for my lunch, 6 quid for a sandwich bottle of coke and a fucking pastrie! What the fuck are they thinking, rip of the tourists and send them on their ways not just lighter in pocket but bitching about rip off britain??? Cause if so they have done a royal job of it!
I was on the bus trying to read one of the books (am now at page 200 of it, had a lazy day today!) when a little girl goggled at the title (The Six Wives of Henry VIII. So i smiled when she noticed i had noticed and said it was alright that she read over my shoulder. she then began asking questions and so I ended up playing teacher, I think i found my role in life cause i loved making this girls jaw drop she had such and expressive face. I wonder if i have kids, if they have such expressiveness or if we are born with it and lose it like all other aesthetics. Anyhow she asked the questions of who came first romans or Henry VIII, I raised eyebrows and reolied Romans, her quizical look gave her away and she said are you sure I said yes, by around 1000 years. I don't think she could quite understand it. But she was really interested which was actually really fun. I had forgotte that kids like a good story and if it is real so much the better! Pity the kids in my area the chav idiots Don't care at all.
Today I guess I can say i did very little shelled out 15 quid in overdues I am signing up for cheap rentals with no overdues cause 15 is rediculous. Bought sweets (demolished them fiarly quick too) and read. I think i am learning that i don't need to be with my parents to go places. That maybe at almost 25 i can go alone! That is a nice feeling.
